The Record Troop Progress screen is used to quickly and efficiently
mark badge and activity progress for a group of scouts. Click on a screen element in the
illustration below to learn more about it.

Scouts (Checkbox List)
The list of active scouts from the currently selected troop and program
level are displayed. Check the boxes next to the scouts to indicate which ones should be
recorded. See Preferences for controlling
active/inactive scouts. [Return to Top]
To quickly select and clear scout check boxes, use the Select All,
Clear All and Invert buttons. The first two should be obvious. Invert
should be used when a small number of scouts should not be selected.
Check the boxes for the non-participating scouts and then click Invert. You
instantly have check boxes everywhere except for the non-participating scouts. [Return to Top]
The badges in this list come from the badges present in the currently
selected troop and program level. You should not get in the habit of
copying large numbers of badges from the master badge database into your troop(s). Doing
so makes this list very long. Instead, copy only the badges that are actively in use by
your troop. This list will be smaller and more manageable. Because the badge copy process
is so quick and easy there's no downside to waiting until the last moment to copy a badge.

Date Completed, Badge
Be sure to select the correct date for badge completion records. While
there's no real harm in having the wrong date, it diminishes the value of the Scout Summary screen and many of the Scout
History-related reports that allow you to specify a date range. [Return to Top]
Mark / Remove Badge (Buttons)
Use these buttons to mark the selected badge as completed for all selected
scouts. If you make a mistake, the Remove button removes the completion flag from
the badge for all selected scouts. Note that these command buttons are only for marking
the entire badge as being completed. In BadgeManager Plus, "completed"
means the scout meets the requirements for the badge. Completed = Earned, but not
necessarily presented. See Award Badges for
recording presentation. [Return to Top]
The activities for the selected badge are displayed. Check the boxes to
indicate which activities the group of scouts completed. [Return to Top]
Date Completed, Activities
Be sure to select the correct date for activity completion records. As
with the other dates in this product, it diminishes the value of other product features if
you don't specify an accurate date. [Return to Top]
Mark / Remove Activities (Buttons)
Use these buttons to mark the selected activities as completed for all
selected scouts. If you make a mistake, the Remove button removes the completion
flag from the activities for all selected scouts. [Return to Top]
Search for Earned Badges (Button)
This feature scans the scouts in the currently selected troop, looking for
badges that appear to be completed (a.k.a. earned) based on the
requirements logic built into this product. See Editing
Badges for details about how the badge requirements logic works.

As the illustration above indicates, the process is not yet fully
implemented. As you're no doubt well aware, requirements for the full spectrum of
badges and other recognitions is very complex. For the first release of BadgeManager Plus, we are confident that
the product can reliably analyze and detect Brownie badges and a subset of the Junior
badges. We anticipate "training" the product to recognize more badges, and will
release updates which will be available for free to our customers.
