Scout Progress

BadgeManager Plus
User Documentation

The Record Individual Progress screen is used to record badge and activity completion information for a single scout at a time. This screen is intended to be used when individual of scouts have completed badges and activities, separate from group activities. This screen is ideally suited to "catching up" your data entry efforts when a scout joins your troop with existing badges that you want to record.

Recording Date

This date is used in all recording actions on this screen. You can change the recording date anytime you need to change it, as often as necessary. [Return to Top]

Scouts (List)

This list of scouts is based on: selected troop, selected program level, and whether or not inactive scouts are being excluded. See Preferences for controlling the display of active/inactive scouts.

Click on a scout to make that scout the focus of all recording operations. [Return to Top]

Badges Not Yet Started (List)

This is a list of the badges that the currently selected scout has not yet started. The list is filtered by the currently selected program level. A badge is considered "started" when at least one activity has been completed. It's possible that the scout shows a badge as started when no activities are completed. This behavior can be controlled via the Preferences screen. [Return to Top]

Add / Remove Badge (Buttons)

The > and < buttons are used to add and remove badges from the currently selected scout. [Return to Top]

Badges for Scout (List)

This is a list of the badges for which the currently selected scout has completed at least one activity OR for which the scout has been marked as completed. This is done so you can mark scouts as having completed a badge without trying to record the precise activity-level details. For example, a scout joins your troop festooned with badges earned in previous troops. Rather than going through the tedious process of determining which activities were completed, you can simply mark the badge as completed and leave it at that. [Return to Top]

Activities (Checkbox List)

The list of activities for the selected badge are presented. Check the boxes for the completed activities. The current Recording Date is used for marking the activities. [Return to Top]

Completed / Presented (Buttons)

The C and P command buttons are used to mark the selected badge Completed and optionally Presented for the currently selected scout. Be sure that the recording date has been set appropriately. While there is no real harm in using an incorrect date, doing so diminishes the value of some of the other product features and reports that rely on the date.

NOTE:  The C and P command buttons are toggles -- if a badge is already marked as Completed, pressing C will remove the completion flag. The P button works the same way.

Below, the Car Care badge is shown as being in-progress (that is, not presented). The Cookie Connection badge is shown as completed but not yet presented. The First Aid Badge is shown as being both completed and presented. Date-related details for the currently selected badge are displayed as well.
