TroopManager Plus
Version 1.5c Update

Version 1.5c is a major update to TroopManager Plus.  Existing users can download the update for FREE.  If you did not hear about version 1.4, which was released a few months ago, you should read about those changes as well.  Click here for details about version 1.4.

bulletNew FEATURES:  To-do lists, notes and memos, grid-style calendars.
bulletNew REPORTS:  You'll find several totally new reports and handy changes to many others.
bulletBug FIXES: Bugs and problems you've reported since version 1.4 have been fixed.

Troop To-Do List and Report

On the main menu you'll see a button for TO-DO Lists.  Here you enter an unlimited number of tasks that need to be done, along with due date and many other optional attributes:

bulletTask, a short description of the to-do item.
bulletAssigned To, optional, a name or name(s) to which the task is assigned.
bulletPriority, low/medium or high.
bulletCompleted, yes or no, task has been completed.
bulletCalendar, yes or no, task should be included in the calendar reports.
bulletNotes, more descriptive details about the task.

The main task entry screen shows a list of tasks with optional filter. You can quickly filter the list to show only tasks over due, due today, this week or this month and/or at a selected priority level and/or incomplete and/or assigned to a person.

The Print button prints a report that includes the currently selected tasks.  For example, set the filter to Incomplete tasks that are over-due and you have an instant report of problem items.  Set the filter to tasks due this month and assigned to your co-leader and you've got a handy reminder.

The Delete button deletes the currently selected tasks. For example, set the filter to Completed tasks and click Delete to remove all completed tasks.

The Add New button adds a new, blank task at the end of the list while the Copy Task button makes a copy of the currently selected task.  Copy is handy for repeating tasks that are assigned to different people each month.

The Details button (found on each line item in the task list) displays a window dedicated to entering information about a single task.  This window offers access to the task Notes (not available in the task listing) and also has handy features for adding days or weeks to the date and selecting scouts or adults for task assignment.

A task can be assigned to multiple people, so you're free to select as many scouts and adults as desired. There's an upper limit of 100 characters. Or, you can enter any text you want; for example, "ME" or "HELPER".

Troop Notes and Report

Also on the main menu you'll see a button for Notes and Memos.  You can enter an unlimited number of notes and memos, each with a title/subject and a large text entry area.

There is no report for these entries in the main list of reports. Instead, click the Print button and the current note/memo is previewed. From there you can print to paper if you like what you see.

Grid-Style Calendar

This is the traditional refrigerator door calendar, showing six full weeks in a grid.  Meetings, events and to-do list items are shown.  We've include six weeks so that no grid cells ever need to be shared.  You'll always see a full week in each row, independent of when the month starts.  Worst case scenario is a month that starts on a Sunday and runs for a full 31 days: this requires six weeks.

Weeks start on a Monday so that the weekend days are together, to help with events or trips that leave on a Friday and return on Sunday.

There's not a lot of room in each grid cell so in the event that more than one item is included you may run out of space and text will get clipped.

Only the To-Do items marked for the calendar are included in the grid.

List-Style Calendar, Format Improvements

The list-style calendar has been improved by using a consistent formatting. There's a day-of-week column (Monday, Tuesday etc), type of item column (Meeting, Event, To-Do), and notes/description (if any) for every item.

Only the To-Do items marked for the calendar are included in the listing.
