SUManager's main switchboard provides one-click access to almost all features and data. Click once in the People, Troops or Organizations lists and see basic information in the lower right of the window. Double-click on any entry to see a detailed data entry form.
Sophisticated filtering features in the Show People options make it super-easy to zero in on the names that you need to see. Additional filtering for Active vs Inactive help keep seldom-needed data out of the way. As you select a troop or organization the people list is automatically filtered to show people associated with that record. (Use the All People option to restore the listing to all people.)
Click on any item in the screen shot below
for more information. When the cursor changes from an arrow to a pointing hand
it
indicates that details are available for whatever is under the finger.

Click once on a name in a list or use the up/down arrow keys. Basic info for the selected item will be displayed in the lower right of this window. Double-click on a name to display a detailed data entry form.
The four buttons beneath each list do pretty much what you think they'd do. The button with the grid on it displays a high-efficiency data entry sheet used to quickly enter basic information for large numbers of records.
Adding a new record requires that you assign a unique name.
Deleting a record prompts you to confirm the action. A list of the other records that will be deleted along with it is displayed so you don't accidentally delete an important record.
The list of people can be filtered in many different ways to help zero in on the names that you are looking for. The list is filtered instantly as you select filtering options. Types of people (scouts, adults, others) can be included or excluded instantly as well. Certain reports offer an option to use the current setting from the switchboard so you can easily print a list of the people displayed in the list.
All lists (people, troops and organizations) can be filtered according to their active vs inactive status. This allows you to mark seldom-used data as inactive so it stops showing up in lists, yet preserves all the historical and relationship records that were entered. Unlike the Show People filter, the Active vs Inactive filter affects the contents of all lists everywhere in SUManager. This includes reports, listings and labels.
Inactive records have an asterisk ( * ) in front of the name so you can quickly differentiate active and inactive records. Below, it's clear that Pauline Allen is an inactive record.
