You should make a backup copy of your SUManager database file after making significant changes or before performing actions that you are not sure about.  For example, before importing data you should make a backup in case you accidentally import the wrong data.

Important: The backup process in SUManager does not do anything special that you could not do yourself using standard Windows file management tools.  If have a commercial data backup product or a cd-rom/dvd burner you can backup the SUManager database file like any other file.

The backup dialog is displayed from the File-Backup Database menu choice or from the Backup button on the main switchboard.

The dialog lists the name and location of the current database file along with the size. Double-check that you are backing up the correct file and that there is enough space for the copy.

You have two options for a backup location.  You can select a local drive or a specific file folder on a local drive.  If you use the Local Drive option the backup copy will be save to the root directory of that drive.  You would use this option for a removable USB drive where you can't predict which folder names will be present.
