When we designed TroopManager Plus 1.0 several years ago, we have to admit the badge/activity supported was limited at best. Things where improved in version 1.1, but troop leaders kept asking for something better. Rather than trying to retrofit extensive new features into an already big product, we decided to create a completely new product that does ONE thing and does it very, very well.

BadgeManager Plus was in the making for almost exactly one year. During that time, many troop leaders just like you had a chance to use the product and influence its design and development. We've ended up with a product designed by and for scout troop leaders and the wonderful world of badges, patched and pins.
The number one badge-related request from our customers is a complete master database containing the hundreds of badges and thousands of activities available to scouts. Think we're exaggerating? At the time of this writing our master database has 282 badges and a whopping 3,500 activities! Don't worry about wasting your time doing data entry--we have you covered.
Best of all, the database will never be out of date. We've kept the master badge database separate from the rest of the product so you can download updates free of charge from our web site. Or, don't wait for us...you can ADD your own badges and EDIT the master list to keep it current and relevant to your needs.
What about badge requirements? This is another BadgeManager Plus innovation -- the product "knows" the requirements and uses this information whenever possible. You'll see the requirements where relevant in reports, and BadgeManager Plus can even lend a hand and detect when scouts have met the requirements.
Whether you lead a single troop or six, nobody wants to contend with over 3,000 activities. BadgeManager Plus uses an innovative copy/edit process that keeps the list as manageable as possible. Rather than wading through a complete set of badges and activities, you can instead copy only the badges you need. The copy/edit process is super-efficient: a few clicks of the mouse is all it takes to copy one, two or a dozen badges.
Having trouble coming up with ideas? Our see-it-all main screen shows badges and associated activities in a fast, browsing-friendly format complete with keyword searching -- quick, which Junior badge activities involve swimming? BadgeManager Plus knows! Which scouts have already completed the badge? You'll see the scout names in a wink.
When the troop works together on badge activities, use the Troop Progress screen to quickly mark progress for the whole gang. If several scouts missed the meeting or event, no problem -- you can instantly include and exclude scouts.
When working on recording progress for a single scout, you can't beat the Scout Progress screen. A few clicks of the mouse is all it takes to mark badges and activities as completed and badges as presented.
Sometimes you want to check on the status of your scouts without having to worry about accidental changes to the data. The Scout Summary screen offers a fast and safe read-only look at the badges and activities for each scout in three categories: completed, in-progress and not started.
Would you dare allow your scouts to plink around in BadgeManager Plus on their own? You'll encourage it when you see BadgeManager Plus in Scout Mode, where all forms of data entry are disabled. Even your youngest Brownie will be able to safely examine her records and have fun looking at what everyone else is doing, or what's possible in the master list.
Busy scouts can get ahead of your ability to keep track of who's earned what and whether or not you've awarded the badge. Use the Award Badges screen to zero in on the badges that have been completed but not yet awarded. This screen comes with a built-in badge shopping list, so you're less likely to forget and mark the badges before heading out to the council store.
