As much as we'd love to eradicate every single bug in each of our products, we can't
afford to! This might sound like an excuse (well, it is) or it might not
even make sense. Allow us to explain: Our products try to strike a balance between the
most features and functionality for the lowest cost to you. While you would be very happy
if the price were only US $5, you would not get many features for that amount. You would
be very pleased with 1,000 features, but would not want to pay US $500. Somewhere between
those extremes lies the right number of features for the right price. We think we have
achieved that with BadgeManager Plus at US $15.
Getting rid of bugs means time invested in quality assurance testing. This is a cost
that must be recouped. Once again we need to strike a balance between cheap but bug-filled
software and expensive but perfect software. We hope we struck the balance properly for
BadgeManager Plus. Many, many hours were invested in testing that all features work
correctly and reliably. Many beta testers
volunteered their time to work with the product and report errors.
Despite this investment, BadgeManager Plus is far too complex to test so thoroughly
that we can honestly say there are no bugs. Rather than investing even more time (and thus
drive the cost up), we released the product when we were confident that the vast majority
of features work reliably. We know better than to think that we will EVER find and fix all
the bugs.
